Tuscan Imports, Inc. was born out of our own love for Italy. I developed a deep affection for Italy, and especially my wife’s home city, Firenze, during the eight years my family lived in the region of Tuscany. I learned to love the culture, the land, the food, the people, and their love for art and craftsmanship. Having mixed feelings about returning to the States in 1998, we attempted to carry a part of Italy with us. We applied stucco to our walls, built old brick arches, put a wood burning brick oven in our yard, and brought a large assortment of terracotta so that we could recreate Italy in our home and garden. We soon realized we were not the only ones who appreciate quality terracotta! Friends and visitors immediately noticed the obvious difference between the hand-crafted items around our home and the terracotta typically found in retail outlets. We discovered that while quality Italian terracotta planters were abundant in Italy, they were difficult to find in the U.S.. As a result, I packed up my truck and began burning up the highway – Tuscan Imports, Inc. was born.
We began as a family business and we continue to be a family business. We began with honest, personal service; and we continue with the same. We began building new friendships and partnerships; and we continue to build those on a daily basis. What a blessing it has been!
