We have an advantage of speaking Italian, therefore we work and communicate directly with top workshops in Impruneta. Most companies work through buying agencies that have contracts with workshops whose production is mediocre at best. These agencies not only push these workshops, but the added cost of a middleman drives up the price of these subpar pieces.

We know the reality that some workshops cut corners and we therefore choose to not work with them. Some fire their items at lower temperatures and some fire for shorter times in order to cut expenses. The ‘anima’, or what is called the ‘soul’ of the terracotta, is affected by these short cuts.
